Open CSPro Data

Select Data Manager from the CSPro Tools dropdown menu, or from the Start -> Programs -> CSPro 8.1 menu.
Data Source
To open a data source:
  1. Click the File menu, select Open, and select Data File, or press Ctrl + O.
  2. Select the CSPro data source that you want to open.
  3. If you choose a data source without an embedded dictionary, you will need to select the dictionary that describes it. If you do not have the associated dictionary, you will not be able to view the data source in Data Manager.
Data Source and Dictionary
If the data source does not contain an embedded dictionary, it is also possible to specify the data source and its dictionary at one time:
  1. Click the File menu, select Open, and select Data Source, or press Ctrl + Shift + O.
  2. Select the CSPro data source that you want to open, along with its dictionary.
If CSPro knows that the dictionary does not match the dictionary used to collect data (because the data source has an embedded dictionary), you will see a Confirm Dictionary Changes dialog that describes the differences between the selected dictionary and the data source's dictionary. Confirming these changes will update the data source's embedded dictionary.
CSWeb Data
If you want to view the data stored on a CSWeb server, you can:
  1. Click the File menu, select Open, and select CSWeb Data.
  2. Enter the URL of the server and select Show Available Data.
  3. Select the data to view and click Open.
The CSWeb data is not downloaded to a local data source but is instead accessed directly from the server using the CSWeb data source. If there is a network error accessing CSWeb, then you will not be able to view the data. Read more about the data source to learn more about permissions required to view data. Most importantly, note that you cannot log in using the role Administrator.
