After fieldwork is completed and all data is safely removed from the device, you will likely want to remove the CSEntry application (which will remove the data along with it). There are two ways to do this, depending on how the application was installed.
- Open up a File Manager program.
- Drill down to the Android folder. Starting with CSPro version 7.5, the csentry directory is located at <external storage>/Android/data/gov.census.cspro.csentry/files/csentry. In earlier versions it was located at <external storage>/csentry. If you previously had an older version of CSPro on your Android device, the csentry will not be moved when you upgrade.
- Delete the folder named after the application.
- Drill down one more level into the "Packages" folder.
- Remove the installation ZIP file.
For example, if the "Simple CAPI" application that accompanies the CSPro installation on your PC had been installed on an Android running version 8.0.1, you should delete this folder:
<external storage>/Android/data/gov.census.cspro.csentry/files/csentry/Simple CAPI
and this file:
<external storage>/Android/data/gov.census.cspro.csentry/Packages/Simple CAPI.zip
If the
.pff and
.pen files were copied over manually (e.g., via a USB cable), then:
- You will have to know where the files were installed in order to delete them. However, they will be somewhere within the CSEntry folder structure given above (but could be buried in a subfolder location).
- As no installation zip file exists, you do not need to go into the Packages folder.
