CSEntry 7.6.2 HTML Viewer not opening html files

Dear all,

I am experiencing this issue, previously I had configured opening of html files. But for some reason I think csentry auto updated and now its not able to open html files. I get the error below when I try opening html report viewer.

Webpage not available
The webpage at
file:///storage/emulated/0/Android/data/gov.census.cspro.csentry/files/csentry/...../...html
could not be loaded because:

net::ERR_ACCESS_DENIED

Anyone who has encountered this issue and how did you solve.

Hi Boniface,

We've had some problems with the latest install due to the increased security protocols being imposed on file folder locations/access permissions/etc.

Did you see the blog entry just made this past week on the subject, or the thread on a similar vein (see Aaron's answer at the end)?

I'm guessing a clean install will likely address this problem. If that doesn't help, then please post your application if you can so we can take a look.

Many thanks for your reply. Yes I came across the posts but neither unistalling/reinstalling yields any fruit. Tried that severally and no option works so far. I believe too its an issue that came with Android OS update, since all devices have stopped displaying the html report.

Please find attached a sample snapshot of the syntax I am using. On the pc, it does display the html file, but on the Android device it doesnt.

Uninstalling/reinstalling did not fix the issue for me until I cleared my backup. Did you try this and then uninstalling/reinstaling?

Delete backup data
Settings > search "backup" > toggle off "Back up to Google Drive" > accept "Turn off & delete"

The backup option has always been off. Have retraced the steps, but again still not yielding any results.

This is a bug that occurs because several settings changed in a more recent version of the Android software. You can see the issue here:

We have fixed the bug and it viewing local files in the web browser will work in the next release. Sorry for the inconvenience.

A new version (of 7.6.2) was uploaded to Google Play today. Let us know if this does not fix the issue.
