The U.S. Census Bureau's International Programs Center for Technical Assistance will conduct an Intermediate CSPro workshop in Washington, DC from May 20 – 31, 2013. This workshop, for intermediate or advanced users of CSPro, will introduce features of the program that streamline the creation of dynamic and powerful applications. Participants will learn about ways to automate data processing tasks, how to design CAPI applications for enumeration on tablets, how to implement hotdecks for data editing, how to create advanced tables, and how to use CSPro's web dissemination tools. Participants will also learn from each other about how other organizations handle data processing tasks. To learn more about the workshop, view the announcement.
CSPro Version Shifter
The CSPro Version Shifter is a new program posted on the Tools page. This program is designed for power users who have multiple versions of CSPro on their machines. It can change the registry to associate all of the CSPro files (.dcf, .ent, etc.) with an older version of CSPro. (Some users will have to run the tool in administrative mode to allow for this functionality.) The program can also change the version numbers embedded in CSPro files. This is useful if you want to make a newer application work in an older version of CSPro.

CSPro 5.0.2 Released!
Yesterday we released version 5.0.2 of CSPro. There are only minor improvements in this version. We made some bug fixes that will allow CSPro to work on Windows 8 machines (but not Windows RT tablets). Also, we added a function, setoutput, that may be useful for people writing batch applications. An example of that function is given on the CSPro Users Forum.
Download the new version here, and as always, you can get older versions on the Software page.

CSPro on Windows 8
Those of you with Windows 8 machines will soon find out that creating or running data entry applications using version 5.0.1 will cause CSPro to crash. We've fixed the problems, which will soon go out in the 5.0.2 release, but in the meantime, you can find out how to work around the problems in the CSPro Users forum.
