In this case I want to make use of the data viewer but when doing the connection for the download I get the following message

By security policies we currently work traffic to a firewall is denying the error with the following error
Please confirm the permissions or exceptions that we have to do in the firewall ??

DataViewer communicates with dropbox.com using https over port 443. Specifically it makes https requests to the following subdomains of dropbox.com: https://api.dropboxapi.com and https://content.dropboxapi.com.

The firewall setup should be the same as you need to get to dropbox.com from a web browser.

Looking on the web, I see some people who ran into similar problems accessing websites over https when a proxy is in use because the proxy causes problems with certificate revocation (see for example https://curl.haxx.se/mail/lib-2016-03/0202.html). You may need to look at the proxy settings.
