Lenght of Alpha Data Type Field

Hi CSPro Community,

I have a little question. And is about what is the maximmun Lenght that can be assigned to an Alpha Data Type Field without getting any kind of trouble?.

If you're talking about an item in the dictionary, then the maximum alpha is of length 999.

If you're talking about an alpha variable created in logic, then the maximum length is 8192. We no longer recommend using these alphas though, and instead suggest using string variables. These are variable length and so they shrink or expand to meet the length of the text that you need to store.

And thanks for the suggestion about variables created in logic. I already have done the change to string variables on my survey programs.
