Tabulate Non Value Set Itmes

Is it possible to tabulate non value set items. When I drag the items in table message appears "Items must have value set to tabulated".
I am using version 5.0.3

I don’t think you can add an item in a table if this item has no value set. Without a value set, there is no value to calculate, so it doesn’t make sense to add non value sets items in a table.

lls is correct. You must have a value set to create a table. However, if you use the Tabulate Frequencies tool, you don't need to have a value set, as that tool can show the frequencies for every single value in your data file.
