Universe and value sets

Post by lls »

Is it possible to filter from value sets instead of value in Universe?
In the Edit Universe wizard, value sets appears in Dictionary Tree but it is not possible to write in Universe someting like [VALUE_VS2 = 1]. The system message display "Invalid Universe Syntax".

Is it not possible to define Universe as VALUE_VS2 or VALUE_VS3?

Couldn't you write as your universe:
invalueset(VALUE,VALUE_VS2)

lls is correct. You must have a value set to create a table. However, if you use the Tabulate Frequencies tool, you don't need to have a value set, as that tool can show the frequencies for every single value in your data file.
