Redeployment

Post by bmuganda »

Hi All,
Just realized when you redeploy the app on csweb it doesn't overwrite the existing application. Instead it creates a new application instance withing the existing one.
Is there a way you to push changes on certain forms without having to redeploy all the files?

When you redeploy use the same name and directory structure as before and it will overwrite the existing one. Deploy writes the application into a directory named from the package name you enter on the first line of the deploy tool so if you deploy with a different name you will get two copies of the application. Deploy also recreates the directory structure that you see in the files window of the deploy tool. So if you deploy the first time by dragging the folder myapp onto the files window and the second time you drag myapp2 then you will get two copies of the application. The best way to ensure that you keep everything consistent is to save the deployment specification and reuse so that everything stays the same for each deployment.
