"Invalid file format. Missing version table.", .csdb file

Post by Eohmer »

Hello, everyone. I'm new to this Forum so I'm sorry if im posting in the wrong section.

My problem is that when I try to open a .csdb file to view the answers, it appears an error message saying "Invalid file format. Missing version table.". I've never had that problem and I've been using CsPro for quite a while.

The data was collected with the csentry app (to wich I'm still somewhat new) and then tried to be uploaded to my ftp server. Id uploaded some of the data, but not all. By this I mean that some interviews did upload but some didn't, wich I think is weird.

I've been opening the file with Notepad to somewhat understand how the data is storaged and to see if I can do anything (but haven't changed a thing).

Might the .csdb be corrupted in some way? Can it be fixed? Is there anyway to retrieve the information?

Thanks!

I would like to take a look at the current dictionary, csdb file from server, and csdb file from a device. If possible could you send this to cspro@lists.census.gov.
