Re: extract .dcf from .pen file
The .pen file was created by a team member under my direction. I can put him in touch with whoever needs to be convinced of his authorship. The .dcf file was written almost two years ago. It's for a very brief village level survey for a randomized control trial that had a much larger household surve...

Re: extract .dcf from .pen file
Actually, Gregory, I see a post this effect from last summer. You offered to send back the extracted .dcf if the user sent you the .pen. Can I do the same? Thanks!

extract .dcf from .pen file
Is there a way to extract a data dictionary from a .pen file? I have a data file that I need to export, and I'm missing the correct stand alone .dcf, but I do have a .pen file that contains it.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: lookup file not working in Android
Again, I was able to work it out. . . On a roll today. Seems all I have to do is ask the questions then a light bulb goes off. . .

lookup file not working in Android
Another lookup file question. My lookup file and loadcase function works fine when I run a CAPI application in Windows, but does not work in the CSEntry Android application. Any ideas?

Re: trouble with lookup file
Nevermind, I worked it out. Found the help file for importing data and went through it carefully. I think the problem was that I wasn't setting the length in the data dictionary to equal the column widths in excel. Also, I needed to leave type value blank.

trouble with lookup file
Hello, I'm developing a CAPI application for CSEntry on Android, and we would like to key on a household ID to bring in some data from a previously collected dataset on the same households. I understand just fine in principle how to create a dictionary associated with an external data file and use t...

Re: Who has experience with CSPro Android
We just completed a survey of 3300 Nepali household using the Android application, written in English and unicode Devanagari script. It went reasonably well, with a few work-arounds. In some cases where we had problems it was due to limitations on my own programming abilities. In other cases it was ...
